The competition is open to ALL students on campus. It provides
students an opportunity to pitch their ideas for new products, services
or business concepts to a group of local entrepreneurs, mentors, and
investors. They have two minutes to explain they problem they have
identified, how they will solve the problem and what they need to be
successful. To do well in the competition, they will need to be
effective and efficient communicators. Cash prizes will be awarded to
the top undergraduate and graduate teams for "Best Overall Plan," "Most
Viable Plan," "Best Green Sustainable Plan" and others
You may have noticed the elevator in the lobby of the Business building.
Not the elevator to the 3rd floor, but an elevator to opportunity. It
is part of our promotion for the Boise State Elevator Pitch Competition,
taking place Friday afternoon, April 17, 2009 in the SUB on the Boise
State campus.

In addition to the Elevator pitch Competition on Friday April 17, we
will have the Boise State Business Plan Challenge and a presentation by
Clay Young, Boise State graduate and President of Inovus Solar, speaking
on life as an entrepreneur.
We ask that you announce these events to your students, encourage them
to participate and consider giving extra credit for their participation
in the events. The Elevator Pitch Competition is a great way for our
students to develop exceptional communication skills while working to
turn their dreams and ideas into reality. With the current economic
uncertainty in the Treasure Valley, this is an opportunity for our
students to begin building their future by turning their ideas into
products, services and businesses.
Our website, www.BoiseStateElevatorPitch.org has information on the
Elevator Pitch Competition and the Business Plan Challenge. Information
on other events during the week will be added soon. If you have any
questions or suggestions, please contact Kent Neupert at 208-426-2397 or
kneupert@boisestate.edu.
Thank you very much, in advance, for helping get the word out about
these events. Please this along to people who may be interested.
